Welcome back to my Blog! It’s been a long time since my last post here & I’m super excited to reconnect again with my lovely fans!
Since the stay at home order from the pandemic, this has allowed me to reflect on one of my favourite things I’m missing, travelling! ✈️ With Memorial Day coming up, I really want to share with you the experiences I’ve had visiting Memorial Sites around the Country!
After flying to Hawaii, I was blessed to visit the USS Arizona Memorial in Pearl Harbor. This was an incredible piece of history; it demonstrated the true sacrifice of our servicemen and women who lost their lives during WWII.
Standing above the sunken warship, I could see the ‘Black Tears‘, which is the oil rising to the surface of the ocean from the ship, even after almost 80 years! The colors on the water were so incredible to see ????
During an East Coast adventure, I took the time to visit the Korean War Memorial in Washington, DC. This was a beautiful tribute to those who served, with 19 giant statutes, all standing over 7 feet tall, representing the Army, Marines, Navy and Air Force. Absolutely inspiring, and such an amazing location, I’m very happy I was able to spend the day there ❤️
Being a huge history buff, while on the East Coast, I wanted to pay my respects and visit the site of perhaps the most iconic war tribute in America, the US Marine Corps memorial in Arlington, VA! It was touching to be in the presence of such an important piece of history, to acknowledge those who gave up so much so we can live in the land of the free today!
To those men and women serving today, I say “Thank You for your service“, and hope you have a fantastic 2020 Memorial Day! ????
